An independent power producerthat develops, invests in and operatessolar power plants

Since its founding in 2014, SIE CO.,LTD. has developed solar power plants, invested in and held them, and run them in-house as an independent power producer. As we shift from FIT to non-FIT corporate PPAs, we are actively seeking land and development projects for solar power.

Our Business

Develop, invest, operate: solar power end to end

SIE CO.,LTD. is a solar developer and also an independent power producer that invests in and holds power plants. We handle everything from securing land and applying for grid connection to commissioning construction from partner contractors, then hold and operate the finished plants. If you need modules, mounting structures or other equipment, we can import and supply them too — a full-service partner for solar.

  • Project investment meeting

    Plant development

We secure land and apply for grid connection in-house, and commission construction from partner contractors. Since 2014 we have developed around 20MW of solar capacity a year in Japan, assessing every site carefully with the expertise of our Taiwan headquarters.

  • Solar panel

Investment and ownership (non-FIT / PPA)

We invest in the plants we develop and hold them for the long term. Rather than relying on FIT, we develop plants that supply power directly to companies under PPAs; with the offtaker in place first, a project moves forward smoothly once land is secured. Our Taiwan headquarters’ long-term PPAs with major semiconductor makers inform how we structure projects in Japan.

  • Remote monitoring dashboard

    In-house O&M

We run operation and maintenance ourselves. Our in-house remote monitoring system, S.I.E.侍, watches every plant around the clock, shows generation and revenue at any time, and pinpoints faults so only the affected part is fixed, keeping lost sales to a minimum.

Import and sale of solar equipment

Plant equipment is part of what we do. We import solar modules, mounting structures and other equipment to suit each project’s specifications and supply them to you, drawing on what we have learned running power plants to help with equipment selection. Enquiries about equipment reuse are welcome too.

  • Solar modules

Modules imported and supplied to match your project’s size and specifications.

  • Mounting structures

Racking sourced to suit the terrain and installation conditions.

  • Balance-of-system parts

Cables, junction boxes and other components a plant needs.

Quantities, specifications and lead times are quoted per project.

Developed in-houseRemote monitoring system “S.I.E.侍”

S.I.E.侍 is a remote monitoring system for solar power plants: log in and everything is clear at a glance. See how each plant is running on one screen, with daily and monthly reports as easy to work with as a spreadsheet, so the condition of every plant can be checked in a short time. The system watches over all your solar power plants 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. No specialist knowledge is needed: follow revenue and faults in real time and keep lost electricity sales to a minimum.

  • Fix only what is faulty

The system pinpoints where a fault lies, so only that part is dealt with, with no need to shut down the whole plant to search for it.

  • Real-time revenue data

Generation and sales revenue are uploaded as they happen, so you can check actual output at any time without waiting for the month-end.

  • Simple, clear operation

A clear, intuitive interface anyone can use without specialist knowledge, with reports you can browse as freely as a spreadsheet.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What kind of land are you looking for?

Forest, wilderness, farmland, miscellaneous land or any land usable for solar power. As a guide, about 4,000 tsubo (about 1.3 ha, roughly 1 MW) or more per site, as flat as possible, and within about 2 km (ideally 1 km) of a high-voltage distribution line or substation. Several neighbouring plots introduced together are also welcome.

Can I contact you about land that does not meet every condition?

Yes. Please get in touch even if the land does not meet every condition.

What information do I need to introduce a site?

A property summary, lot number or cadastral map is enough. We will assess feasibility and reply quickly.

Do you consider projects already under development?

Yes. Besides vacant land, we welcome projects at any stage, including those that have applied for or received a grid-connection study.

Do you accept introductions from real estate companies and developers?

Yes. We welcome introductions from landowners, real estate companies and developers, and we are looking for long-term partners rather than one-off deals.

How does a project move from introduction to operation?

Introduction, initial assessment, site visit and grid-connection study with the utility, our offer to purchase or lease, then permits and construction by partner contractors. We own the completed plant long term and handle operation and maintenance.

What kind of company is SIE CO.,LTD.?

An independent power producer headquartered in Kobe and founded in 2014, the Japanese arm of the Taiwanese solar EPC company Shining Energy. We have developed solar plants in Japan at an average pace of about 20 MW per year, and our parent company Shining Energy has over 90 MW connected to the grid across more than 1,200 sites in Taiwan.

Can I buy solar modules or mounting structures from SIE?

Yes. We import modules, mounting structures and other solar equipment to suit each project and supply them. Quantities, specifications and lead times are quoted individually, so please get in touch.

What is the S.I.E.侍 remote monitoring system?

A remote monitoring system for solar plants that we developed in-house. It watches plants around the clock, shows generation and revenue at any time, and pinpoints faults so they can be fixed individually.
