About

Founded in 1893 just north of Nijo Castle, on the site of Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s Jurakudai palace. The brewery describes itself as the only one still operating in central Kyoto (rakuchu), and brews with its own well waters, Ginmeisui and Kinmeisui, for a soft, delicate style. Flagship brands: Jurakudai and Koto.
